Hibachi ~ 5 ways!!!

Today was the best day ever....says The Husband..lol. Now it's my turn - Tonight was such a blast! We decided to save our first date replication for another anniversary since it was 1 1/2 drive just to get there. Instead we went to Hisui's Japanese Steakhouse where they cook it right in front of you. We (actually me) got to be serious "tourists" snapping pictures of everything! I am sure I am embarassed The Husband standing up at times and taking pictures with my flash everywhere :D But it was fun, so hey, who cares, right?! I wish I brought our Flip video to film it though.....

When you walk in you are seated at one of their Hibachi Grill Tables.

And you get to meet your "Chef" who will do all the cooking at your table. Say hi to our talented Cook! He has some amazing tricks that he does as he whips up your awesome feast.

You get a ton of food with your order (I was shooting for 5 courses :D but we ended up with alot more.

Miso Soup and salad w/way too much dressing for starters!

We opted for "fried" rice instead of steamed rice because honestly it's more fun. Before making it, he asked The Husband if he wanted an "Egg Roll" and The Husband said yes. So, he took out an egg and rolled it across the stove. Ha! Our Chef has jokes!!! While making our fried rice, he made a heart, flaming heart and a beating heart! ** Click to make any of these bigger images.

After playing with our food, he served it up in these cute little bowls. Doesn't this bowl of fried rice look amazing??? It really was as good as it looks.

Next, he started our veggies and made up a flaming Onion Volcano - this was so cool to watch! You can totally feel the heat but not in an ahhhh I am going to catch on fire type of way.

And our Garlic Shrimp Appetizers (yup, part of the meal!) The appetizer part is only about 3 shrimp, but, since I ordered shrimp and chicken I got all my shrimp at the same time. I LOVED the garlic, butter taste with a hint of Saki....delish!

Our chef continued with his magic tricks and whipped up the rest of our meal in minutes....before we could even finish our rice and appetizers. I wish I could cook up a meal that fast! Here he is in action.....

Can you guess what The Husband ordered? Rib Eye Steak.....but, I am sure you already knew that.

Here is everything that was put on my plate ~ WOW! There was so much food and it was so good. I have to admit I pondered sushi but this was way better than any sushi roll could've been. I ate all my veggies (be proud mom!), all my rice and shared my chicken/shrimp with The Husband.

The veggies were by far the star of the show for me. I must learn how to replicate them. Then, they brought out ice cream for dessert. I seriously had no room but I can ALWAYS make room for ice cream.

We had the best time, enjoying each other, the conversation, the food....Now it's time to pack up my bags and get ready to head to Tahoe in the morning to continue the celebration. We are meeting my parents for breakfast - can't wait!

I am not sure if I'll blog while we are away but I will give a full recap when we return if I don't. Have a fabulous weekend all!!!
